Question by Ironman: Mortgage applications? I'm applying for a home mortgage loan by myself. Does the proccess (those who approve me) and the application include an area to write in a significant other who will be helping with the monthly mortgage payment? I'm not adding her to the mortgage application because of poor credit from college days however her annual income is over 100K. Thanks Best answer for Mortgage applications?:

No, only income from the applicants will be considered. If the name of the significant other is not on the application, the income will not be considered. Even if there is a provision to include the income, a background check will most likely be preformed as well and the bad credit will become part of the approval process.

No. She and her income are on the mortgage to be considered. You cannot add her as a source of income.

The underwriter won't use her income unless she is a co-applicant. The only income that can be considered is your income plus court ordered child support and alimony.

New Federal Regulations. If you are married, the bank must require to have both your credit reports. Credit reports are easy to fix. Get a book on Credit and Debt Repair. From a library or a bookstore. All the tricks on negotiating, settling and doing the pay on delete are in those books. Also remember that items drop off after the SOL - the years will be stated in the books for each state. If an item is still showing on her reports that is passed the SOL - simply dispute it and have it removed. Get that book today. /
